How ASH handles listener data

Accounts

Registered users provide a name, email address and password. Passwords are stored as secure password hashes, not plaintext. Accounts may also contain an optional avatar, biography, favorites, playlists and listening history.

Listening analytics

When analytics consent is enabled, the site records first-party events such as page views, play starts, 25/50/75 percent listening milestones, completions, skips, downloads, shares and referral host. It stores a keyed hash of the visitor IP rather than the raw IP. Device type and a country code may be recorded when supplied by the hosting/CDN provider.

Cloudflare

If the administrator enables Cloudflare integration and proxies the domain through Cloudflare, the application can use Cloudflare headers for country analytics and a privacy-preserving IP hash. Cloudflare itself has its own service/privacy terms.

Comments & guest actions

Guests can receive a random nickname and a random browser-session token so likes, reports and comments can function without creating an account. Comments may be moderated or removed by the administrator.

Email list

Newsletter subscribers provide an email address and optionally a name. The site can require confirmation before activation. Subscribers can unsubscribe through per-subscriber links included in campaigns. Campaign delivery status is stored so scheduled/batched sends are not duplicated.

Advertising & external services

ASH can display first-party native ads or third-party advertising code. Native ad impressions/clicks and link-in-bio/support outbound clicks can be counted for business reporting; optional site-event analytics respect the site analytics-consent setting. Third-party ad, payment, streaming and social platforms may process data under their own privacy terms. The ASH site does not store payment-card credentials.

Cookies

Essential session cookies support login, CSRF protection and guest actions. Where enabled, a consent cookie records whether first-party analytics are allowed.
